Manuscript Critique

Sometimes, you have a great idea and a good presentation. But it needs some extra zing to get past the slush pile and sparkle enough to garner you attention and a contract.

You can read and re-read your own work a hundred times and still miss both small and large problems that can prevent publication.

One of the most important elements of a critique is that the person providing it encourages you to make the necessary changes while keeping your own vision of the piece and your own voice.  Only then will you have something unique enough to catch an agent's or publisher's eye.
